All sectors of the real estate industry are actively engaged in updating previous electronic standards to fit into today's web-based IT world.   RETS (the Real Estate Transaction Standard) is part of an effort, along with other standards such as the Mortgage Bankers Association's MISMO, to improve the entire real estate transaction process in terms of speed, efficiency, cost, tracking and status.  Since 2001, Avantia has been an active participant in RETS workgroups with NAR to promote current and future standards, and assisting MLS, Brokers, Lenders, Appraisers and Software Vendors to incorporate XML Standards into their solutions.
